Alexandra vs Ketsana
by ~Budjette on deviantART

For those who live here, are avid fans of comics, and who can free up January 9, 2010. This is one of the things to look forward to, and given the list of artists mentioned on the Renaissance's notes that I've been receiving on FB, there is definitely a whole lot more awesome to look forward to.

Free up the date and mark it down on your calendars. I will see you there. :)

Come On Get Higher [listen]
Matt Nathanson

I miss the sound of your voice
And I miss the rush of your skin
And I miss the still of the silence
As you breathe out and I breathe in

If I could walk on water
If I could tell you what's next
I'd make you believe
I'd make you forget

So come on, get higher, loosen my lips
Faith and desire and the swing of your hips
Just pull me down hard
And drown me in love
So come on, get higher, loosen my lips
Faith and desire and the swing of your hips
Just pull me down hard
And drown me in love

Uno.

Make a post (public, friends locked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) on your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. These can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really, really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes should be things you really, truly want.

If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you. Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post so that the holiday joy will spread.

Dos.
Surf around your friends list (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part: If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use - or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free - do it. You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf - to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not - it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just... wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

Still have about 30 minutes of my lunchbreak left. Will nap for a bit. :) Or bother people on AIM. Whichever comes first. ♥
Wound Cream
Brian Patten

Perhaps it is the way Love’s promoted;
You’d think it came in a jar,
Something that could be spread
Over all that bothers us,
A heal-all, a wound cream,
A media promoted fairytale
Gutted of darkness.

Though its contradictions
Nail us to each other
And the hunger for it
Can be our undoing,
We still use it as a prop,
As proof we are living.

How hard to do other than
Give it precedence, forgetting
How friendship outlives it,
Commits fewer crimes,
Wears its name at times.

But not as much as I miss Cyn [info]vacivity and Marie [info]snakeprint.

Now enjoying this lovely, lazy Sunday morning (rain is pouring - or not , the sun is shining :] - steal some cover / share some skin / clouds are shrouded up in moments unforgettable / you shift to fit the mold that I am in) ♥

Had an amazing day yesterday. But I will post about it another time. :) For now, breakfast~♥♥♥
Will be very, very brief:

On leave from work today. Got up at 5:45am, caught Eri [info]signifies on Skype for a bit. Had breakfast. CLEANED. CLEANED SOME MORE. REARRANGED STUFF. CLEANED SOME MORE AGAIN.

We're not yet done and my only thought is--

"Uh-oh. It's barely past 7pm and already I want to crash."

*puffs*

- N.
I am no longer surprised that I get sick as often as I do. Seriously, this cold. It's the kind of cold that burns and hurts.

Currently chatting with Eri [info]signifies while on my lunch break. Would go down to literally thaw out, but then I'm just half a street away from the Starbucks at Standard Charter and the last thing I need is to remind myself that I'm on a tight budget until payday comes around.

Oh my kingdom for a Peppermint Signature Hot Choco. -.-;

(Would that I had a kingdom to trade.)

I'm really tempted to take off my wave ring, which I try not to take off too much because it feels weird to be without it now that I've taken to wearing it again. But the metal is chilly against my skin. I feel like I have ice pressed around my ring finger. Hell. Even my NAILS feel chilled.

I'm falling way behind schedule when it comes to my gifts. I was supposed to drop by Taft this afternoon to hand over something for Kam's [info]slpwlkngdreamer, but I'm not finished with them yet and there's still so much to fix at home. I'm grateful enough for the leave I filed for Thursday because we needed to move laundry day earlier since my party is on Saturday.

|B BY THE BY. I feel like a broken record on Plurk so I'm going to switch over here:

(WARNING: Obnoxious CAPSLOCK is obnoxious)

I NEED CONFIRMATION. WHO IS COMING TO MY HOUSE ON DEC. 12.
Reply below with your email address so I can send you directions.

P.S. I am told there will be Spanish hot choco and my mother's fudge.

HMPH. If that last bit isn't incentive enough IDK what is.

It's funny how I look back at the last couple of weeks now and can't remember to place what went where because I've been running around from one event to another, meeting people I haven't seen in months and other such things. True, I collapse into bed like deadwood and get less sleep than I used to, but it's fun. I'm having fun. It's something that makes me smile a lot more.

I've never really gotten the opportunity to talk abuot what exactly I've been up to, so let's do something of a rundown:

I assisted at the Commonwealth Educational Fair at the Renaissance Hotel on November 19 as a Representative Assistant to this lovely woman called Mickey Lalonde who was representing the College of New Caledonia from Canada. We talked about hockey and it was nice to speak to someone who didn't wonder why someone as tiny as me would play a game known to be played by guys. She was really nice. :) We keep in touch via email. I gave her Books 1-3 of TRESE as a souvenir from her trip here. :)

I had lunch with the Buko Crew (plusplus) and dinner with old blockmates the day after. Was on ym feet in my wine-colored Stella Luna boots and gave up only on the way home when I decided to switch to flipflops as not to totally murder my feet.

Spent an entire day at the WTC for the M3Con - where I made an utter fool of myself infront of the X-Men cosplayers (does anyone know where I can buy or regrow my dignity?) and manned the LAVI-fuzz- booth with Rikapi [info]redmoonmurder. I think the highlight of me watching the booth solo was getting to talk to these two kids who asked if LAVI was ever going to be turned into an anime. *v*/ HEE HEE HEE. You hear that DANCHU [info]gilgrado? xD

Sunday was me running all the way to Makati to buy cloth for Sian's [info]sianannigans Christmas pressie and scrambling to High Street for the James Jean signing. I wasn't really expecting to get stuff signed but thanks to the tandem of awesome namely: Bunny [info]soloproject and Hope [info]coffeebased, I went home with a signed copy of this beautiful print.

The following Sunday I met up with a handful of the Famiglia for lunch at Charlie Wanton House: Bhex [info]dreamlessness, Rikapi [info]redmoonmurder (I see you a lot more than I see anyone else bb xDDD), Deb [info]mochaholic, Pam [info]izkariote, Aggy [info]nonartisan and Nina [info]richestgrave. Had awesome Beef with Brocolli Rice, which I find that I am craving a lot these days. >>;

Len [info]mienaihoshi was supposed to follow, but she got into an accident :( and wasn't able to anymore. Bb, I miss you. Who do I have to kill to get you free to come to my house this weekend? What's your sched, btw? Maybe we can fix something up. I would be happy with just bumping into you on the train at this point because I honestly never get to see you anymore. :(

(Last stretch.)

My last weekend I posted about in pictures: Friday was the CSC-AU/NZ Hat Party of loltastic win, Saturday was the Outerhope 2nd Album Launch at Saguijo which meant an awesome night of music. :) And Sunday was Sweeney Todd at GB1 ONSTAGE smished between Bun [info]soloproject, Dione (what happened to your LJ DDD:) and Alex. :) Oh and yes, Rikapi [info]redmoonmurder who I botherbothered during intermission.

And now, today. This week. And my impending doom which is the party this weekend and the numerous gifts I still need to finish ;;

*coughcough* Anyway. What has everyone else been up to?

♥ ,
N.

My weekend in photographs.

Friday. CSC-AU/NZ December Party.

Post-party shots of me and my hat :)

Saturday. Outerhope @ Saguijo.

Sunday (read: today). Sweeney Todd @ ONSTAGE, GB1.
(Well, afterwards because cameras weren't allowed inside)

And because I keep on saying I will post about it and never actually get to:

Pre-Christmas/9-month Delayed Housewarming Party
Where: Casa Pico, Life Homes Subdivision, Pasig City
When: December 12, 2009, lunch (12nn/1pm onwards)
RSVP Attn to Me/Noey [info]mlina via PM, Plurk, Twitter
(sillyshroom) or via text/IM.

I would also like to state that my Skype account will be logged in for the benefit of those who live outside of my country and cannot attend the event physically, but who wish to participate in the mayhem. Add me up as beautybedamned, video conference is an unlikely thing as it is not available, but voice conferences are a definite thumbs-up. :)

♥ always,
N.

P.S. In ref. to my last post: Thank you so much to Bhex [info]dreamlessness for the early Christmas present of renewed paid LJ time and additional icons. :) I promise that there will be no unexpected hiatuses within the next year and that I will have fun posting again. ILUBB!
